Graduate Spotlight: Ryan Cheves

With graduation approaching, we are spotlighting our amazing graduating Linguistics majors each day. For our next spotlight, we are highlighting Ryan Cheves. Ryan is from Jacksonville, Florida and has been in the Linguistics department since Fall of 2019. Continue reading below to learn more about him and his experiences in our department.

1. What’s next for you after graduation?

After graduation, I am looking forward to continuing my education at UF and obtaining my Master’s degree in Linguistics.

2. What is your biggest achievement as an undergraduate?

I am most proud of being inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.

3. What will you miss most about the UF Linguistics?

I will miss a lot of my professors and colleagues that I have had the pleasure of meeting.

4. What advice would you give junior Linguistics majors?

Remember to have fun and enjoy yourselves. You’re on a life-long path of being a linguist.
