George Aaron Broadwell and his colleague Alejandra Dubcovsky have just published a translation of a 1651 letter written in Timucua, the Native language of most of North Florida.

This is the oldest letter written in a Native American language of the United States, and understanding it is important to our knowledge of the language and history of early Florida.
